The increasing imperative to foster progress and empowerment fuels the critical need for collaborations of a wide range of players: large artistic institutions - concert halls, opera houses, orchestras - and associations, schools, or refugee centers. The latter are able to present their projects in prominent contexts on large stages, who in return can profit from authentic participation thanks to independent partners with years of efforts in diverse communities. While such conceptual collaborations can open access to life-changing music experiences for otherwise absent parts of society, they also rise challenges for the organizational partners involved. Our unique perspective, stemming from our dual experience in both institutional and non-profit realms, allows us to engage in a self-reflective dialogue that uncovers the nuances of this approach.
